Northstar Bass Club
Mystery Lake 2008
|
Our Mystery Lake this year was held on Lake Marion located just north of Richville. It turned out to be a windy and rather chilly fishing ordeal. In
the end, every team caught a limit of 8 bass which says a lot about the bass population (even though the majority are 1.5 to 2 pound fish).

Biffy Rush? It appears that everyone has to wait in line to use the port-a-potty. |
 |
 |
Waiting List... The biffy rush is so bad, that tournament director Dave Steinbach
has to take names. |
DOH!! It wasn't a case of full bladders after all. Here, you can see the ingenuity of our
tournament director as he utilizes the port-a-potty to protect the scale from being affected by the wind during our weigh-in.
Since not every lake we fish this year will have this convenient facility, I suggest the club rents one for the remainder of the year. Perhaps one of the
non-boaters with a tow hitch can be responsible for hauling it {grin}.
... I'm next... |

Steve Pollock receives his first 5 pound release patch. Steve released a 5.18 pound bass. Good job Steve catching
and successfully releasing a nice fish!
Not pictured is Kris Greene who released the lunker for the day. Kris caught a 5.51 pound bass. Congratulations Kris on a very nice
fish!! |
2nd Place
Butch Wentland and Mike Seabrook are shown here taking the 2nd place prize. Butch and Mike had a total weight
of 22.14 pounds. Good job guys!! |
 |
1st Place
John Simonson and Gregg Ripley are pictured with the 1st place plaques. The team had a total weight of 24.73 pounds.
It was a terrific day of fishing! Myself and John had many two-fers (one being a culling-two-fer). Between the both of us, we must have caught over
100 fish (it sure seemed like it!). It was my first day of fishing this year so it turned out to be a great start!!
Just for the record...I contributed to three of our team's fish we weighed. Partnering with Mr. Bass, I just had
to get that in! {VBG}
