Northstar Bass Club
Rush Lake 2009
|
Our Rush Lake tournament was held June 14th, 2009. It was a very nice day with little wind. It was a good turn-out as we had 24 participants
and about 18 boats. The worst part of the tournament for me was that I took my shirt of to get a "little" color. Well, four hours of color
changing was a bit too long as Mike Seabrook made a comment when passing that my back was as red as my boat. The best part was the biggest
fish I've seen brought to the scales.

Beautiful Morning

As you can see, it was a pristine morning.

Don't let go!

Here, Terry Black is holding on strong to someone else's boat. The access was a little crowded so it was nice for others
to help out while loading and unloading our bass rigs. |
Gentlemen, start your engines!

Just about ready to blast off and wake-up the looney birds.

It's all about the scales.

Here is assist tourny director Howard Fullhart reading the numbers.
Just an important note to make is that Howard was a new daddy
just two days before this tournament. His wife was getting out of the hospital the day of the tournament requiring Howard to leave
a little early. Just a note to all you wives out there (including my very own) that Howard's wife is considered to be very thoughtful and generous.
A quality all of us men really adore and creates in us a desire to do much for you in the future {wink...wink}.

In the sweet by and by.

Gary Eichhorn is shown here waiting his turn to get his boat loaded.

Almost Mann!

Tom Mann was very close to taking largest fish for the day with this hog that weighs 4.57 pounds. In the background,
Mark Henry looks a little weary from a long day of fishing while John Waerseggers smiles pretty for the camera.
Tom's fish was very nice and one
worthy to take top honors; but it didn't quite make it until.......

A Gi-Hugic Fish!!

Don Bjerklie stands very tall showing the biggest fish I've seen yet brought to the scales to date in my 5 years as a club member.
Don's fish weighed in at 6.04 pounds of pig! Good job Don!

First Place

Is it any surprise that if you catch the biggest fish, then you should win first place. Here Don Bjerklie shows his Big Fish
plaque and First Place as well. Congrats Don on having a super day of fishing!!
